Does Your Bookie Smile When You Walk In?

Of course he does!

How much money do you give him each week?

Even a tenner every week adds up to over 500 quid a year.

The staff in the bookies take your money every week... just another mug.

They laugh when you say you're going to win, imagine the look on their faces when you come back to claim your winnings.

Believe me, there's no better feeling than watching the girl behind the counter counting out that lovely cash! Or maybe the best bit is when you fold the notes and tuck them neatly into your wallet. The staff start to look at you differently.

Why are some punters treated differently?

If you ever spot a friend of mine in the queue, try to listen in. He likes to remain anonymous so I'll call him Mr X. The manager chats politely with him as he places his bets. As soon as Mr X leaves the bookies, the manager rings head office to let them know what's happened.

What's so special about Mr X?

Nearly 40 years ago, 2 young lads sat behind each other in a classroom. They were fairly alike, these 2 young lads. Neither of them were very good in school, but they were both cheeky, good-natured, popular with their group of pals and mad about football.

Recently, these 2 men bumped into each other at the 50th birthday party of another lad from their class.

They were still very much alike. Both had married but got separated. Both had 1 kid. And both, it turned out, had gone into the building trade.

But there was a difference. One of the men was on disability from injuries he'd got on the building sites, the other was Mr X. He was in great form, he'd just flown back into the country for the party and to catch up with all his old mates.

What makes 1 person wealthy while someone else is always struggling to pay his bills?

Why is Mr X living in Spain watching football matches on the massive TV in the golf club, while his old friend is trying to make his disability money last the week and still hoping he'll win the lottery someday?

Now you'll be able to treat your family to anything they want! This Christmas, you'll sit there watching their faces as they open their presents. Imagine the smiles as they open up the latest computer games and fancy clothes!

No more worrying about hospital waiting lists, now you and your family go private and get seen immediately!

What Made The Difference?

For these 2 lads, it all came down to one lad asking a stranger for a light in the pub.

One afternoon about 25 years ago, the young Mr X was unemployed. He was in the pub one day, hoping to find someone to have a drink with, when he met the man who changed his life. At first he was just curious about what the stranger did for a living. The older man clearly had money and was well-dressed, and was perfectly relaxed having a quiet drink and a cigarette at 4 o'clock in the middle of the week. The 2 of them ended up having a couple of drinks, the young lad trying to find out what his new pal did for a job. Eventually he had a couple of guesses (businessman, accountant, good guesses but way off the mark), until the stranger decided to put him out of his misery...

Knowledge Is Power

The older man finally owned up. "In a way you were kind of right. I am a businessman, I'm in the business of making money!" The younger lad had no idea what to say so he just laughed. He soon stopped laughing when his drinking buddy explained exactly what he meant. It turned out he'd grown up just a few miles away, in an area still known to be a bit rough. He'd started out as a TV repairman, then a driver, but wasn't making much money. The girl he'd met, and wanted to marry, was a doctor's daughter and her father wasn't impressed when she brought home a van driver.

The young lad was dropping his girl home one evening when he heard some of her father's friends, talking about their evening at the local casino.  The young van driver didn't even know there was a casino nearby. The only casinos he'd ever seen were in the movies on the black and white TV in his parents' house. He couldn't believe the amounts of money the posh people were laughing about, as they pushed past him going out the gate. 2 of the group had won a couple of hundred quid, and were laughing at their friend who'd lost nearly 1000.

Starting a New Life

It was at that minute that the young lad had a brainwave. What he realised that summer evening was really fairly simple; if these people were losing 100s of pounds then someone else had to be winning that amount. He figured that he only had a few quid to lose, so even if it all went wrong he'd only be down a few quid. All he had to do first was find someone to borrow a suit from, so the casino would let him in.

To make a long story short, our friend the van driver hired a suit from a place in town and set off to make his fortune. His first trip to the casino was a bit scary. He'd no idea what most of the games were or how to play them. And the people playing were talking in what sounded like a code. But he'd got a taste for it so went back a few times, trying to understand what was going on. As he's always been a friendly sort of lad he soon made a few friends, and got to know his way around the gaming tables a bit. Eventually he discovered that he had a talent for blackjack. Poker on the other hand, was not for him. Anyone looking at him could tell exactly what cards he had and cleaned him out.

The young Mr X, sitting in the pub listening to this story couldn't believe his ears. Finally it got too much for him and he interrupted the older man to ask "You mean you went from being a skint van driver to hanging around in a casino?". The older man just laughed and said "when you say it like that it does sound a bit funny alright. I still thank God that I gave it a go. I hate to imagine where I'd be if I hadn't."

"So what did your girlfriend's dad say when you got a bit of money?"

"No idea. I'd split up with her by then. Can't really remember why. I think she got annoyed cos I was spending so much time with my new friends. It was all for the best anyway, she wouldn't have liked the travelling I do."

"Travelling?"

"Yeah. I live mostly in France nowadays, but I like to try out different casinos, mostly in Europe although the American ones are nice for a change too. And I usually come back over here a couple of times a year to catch up with everybody. It's handy to have a couple of different addresses, keeps the taxman off my back"

"Is that casino still there? Do you still go there?"

"Yeah. It's still there I think. Haven't been there in a while. Might pop in while I'm home."

By now the younger lad was determined to give it a go. The older man offered to get him into the casino, but warned him he'd need a suit.

Discover the secrets of the gambling professionals!

The unemployed builder's first time in a casino went better than the former van driver's. Walking in with someone who knew his way around made a huge difference. He even managed to make a small profit playing baccarat. By the time he walked out with his winnings tucked in the pocket of his borrowed suit, he felt like James Bond.

He never went back on the buildings. That was almost 25 years ago now, but he can still remember how he felt each time he walked in, the doorman knowing his name, opening the polished wooden doors. It felt like entering a secret world as the lights of the casino spilled out into the dark street, the sound of the roulette wheel spinning, followed by people cheering and the clink of drinks glasses.

The now 50 year old Mr X got talking with his old school mate, Bob.  They swapped news of family and friends. Turns out Bob's parents weren't in good health, his dad was waiting for an operation on his knee. Bob was worried that by the time his dad got to the top of the queue, he'd be too weak to survive the operation.

Mr X's family were all doing well. His sister had survived cancer because it was caught early and Mr X paid for her to go private. Every year his whole family spends Christmas and New Year in Mr X's villa near Barcelona. Last year there were 16 of them altogether.

You won't find this insider information anywhere else

This guide is stuffed full of insider knowledge gained in the casinos, racetracks, and bookmakers' shops of Europe. It took Mr X and his mentor 2 generations and around 55 years. It would cost at least €100,000 to learn all this by yourself.  And at least a couple of years.

By the way, Mr X doesn't babble on for page after page. If you're looking for a book filled with pretty pictures, this guide is not for you. Each page of this guide is filled with insider tips and advice. That's it, all information and no waffle.

I nearly forgot to mention...

If you're curious what happened to the older man from the pub?  He's in his 80s now, living in France. He's supposed to be retired but can't resist the occasional trip to his local racetrack. He looks old and harmless but still loves cleaning out a bookie when he gets the chance. His face is too well-known in the casinos near his home, so when he feels like a game of  blackjack he has to take the train a bit further away. Apparently, he hopes that when his time comes he'll drop dead suddenly, face down on the card table, with a girl on each arm, just as the croupier slides over his winnings.

Jason's Story

Jason was a takeaway delivery man who brought a pizza to Mr X's house around 6 months ago. The book was nearly finished but Mr X wanted a guinea pig to test it on. Jason was happy to help, mostly because Mr X gave him 100 quid and said he'd show him how to make it into 500 quid.

A week later, Jason told his mates he was going to make a fortune from the local bookie and never again lose his drinking money. The lads laughed, they were all used to hearing him ask for the loan of a 20 till Friday... They soon stopped laughing when he walked in with a nice little bundle in his pocket and bought drinks for the group.

By the way, Jason quit the delivery job soon after and is now travelling around Europe. As he's not keen on card games, he sticks to betting on football and horseracing. He's planning to travel around the American racetracks next year.

"I set up Keen Gambler because I wanted a website that doesn't assume all gamblers are experts. Gambling is no longer a private club for those in the know.

Mr X was definitely the best person to ask for help. Before I met him, around 10 years ago, I'd no idea there was such a thing as a professional gambler.

I'm delighted he's finally written a book giving all the insider information he's picked up over the years hanging around in casinos and racetracks. I wish this book was around when I was starting out, it would have saved me a fortune! "     AJ from Keen Gambler
